Implementation Regulations for the Microprogram in “Narrative and Creativity”

Explanation

Article 1

To enhance students’ foundational competencies in reading and interpreting texts and, through the reconstruction of texts, to stimulate their narrative skills and creativity, the Department of Chinese Literature (hereafter “the Department”), establishes the Microprogram in “Narrative and Creativity” (hereafter “the Program”).

Purpose

Article 2 

The Department is responsible for all matters pertaining to the Program, including curriculum planning and the verification of students’ completion records.

Administrative Responsibility

Article 3

Courses are offered in accordance with the Course List for the Microprogram in “Narrative and Creativity.” Students enroll concurrently with regular classes; the Program requires 9 credits in total, and comprises two categories—Foundational and Applied courses. Students must complete at least one course from each category.

Curriculum Structure

Article 4

Students who have completed the required courses and credits may apply to the Program before graduation. Upon verification by the Department, a Certificate of Completion will be issued.

Any matters not specified herein shall be handled in accordance with the University Academic Regulations and all relevant rules.

Matters Not Provided For

Article 6

These Regulations shall take effect upon approval by the Department Affairs Meeting and deliberation by the College Affairs Meeting, and shall be filed with the Office of Academic Affairs for record. The same procedure applies to any amendments.

Course-Taking Rules

  1. All courses are taken concurrently with regular classes, and the Program comprises two categories—Foundational and Applied courses. Students must complete at least one course from each category. . Students who complete 9 credits may apply for the Certificate of Completion before leaving the University; the certificate is issued upon successful verification.
  2. Because the Program has no required courses, all listed courses are classified as Electives (the classification in the University Course Catalog may differ for some courses).
  3. The course list is reviewed and updated each semester.
